Home / For Parents
Parents are encouraged to stay closely involved in the school programs. There are many ways to do this. The Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) is the major parent support group at HCA. This groups serves as a booster club, volunteer organization, coordinator of school functions, and fundraising events. While HCA does not endorse student fundraising efforts, the school budget does include some adult-organized fundraising and gifts each year. Revenues from PTF are directly contributed to school programs and projects. The PTF has already initiated a very successful Book Fair and will be looking for other opportunities as they grow.
Parents are also welcomed to volunteer in the office and in their children's classrooms. This assistance is very valuable as it allows HCA to staff conscientiously while still targeting excellence in high quality publications, communications, and programming.
Parents are also invited to attend weekly Chapel services at 8:15 AM each Wednesday. Following Chapel, once per month is an open forum meeting with our Headmaster, Dr. Giardino. Often the topics of conversation are focused on parent questions and ideas. At times, the meetings have an opening theme, such as: "How do I get my child to read?". As a new school, we find that these meetings have encouraged parents to get to know one another as they share ideas and experiences of raising children in Christian homes.
